HOT STONE MASSAGE
Heated, smooth stones are placed on certain points on the body to warm and loosen tight muscles and balance energy centers in the body. The massage therapist may also hold stones and apply gentle pressure with them. The warmth is comforting. Hot stone massage is good for people who have muscle tension but prefer lighter massage.
The Bellissima Massage is a combination of the above three massages all in one. It is our most popular massage. The combination can also be added to deep tissue if preferred. This massage comes in a 70 minute or 90 minute session.
Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The massage therapist uses slower strokes or friction techniques across the grain of the muscle. Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury. People often feel sore for one to two days after deep tissue massage.
Moms to be can benefit greatly from massage both during and after pregnancy. Prenatal massage can promote relaxation, reduce physical and mental stress, relieve neck and back pain and improve circulation. The expecting mother's body must be properly positioned and supported during the massage using pillows and padding. Proper positioning ensures comfort and safety for the mother and baby.
Please note: prenatal massage can be counter indicated in the first trimester. Please consult with your physician prior to scheduling a prenatal massage, especially if you are experiencing a difficult or challenging pregnancy.
